Osteopathy was founded by Dr. Andrew Taylor Still in 1874 down south in Kirksville, Missouri. After losing 3 children and his first wife to a tragic bout of meningitis he sought to solve the shortcomings to medicine as he had learned it. He was a god fearing man and believed that God, or nature had designed our bodies to be perfect therefore disease and suffering must come from some sort of imbalance. Osteopathy itself stands for “osteo” meaning “structure“ and ”pathos” which stands for “suffering of”, therefore coming together as ”suffering of structure”. Through diligent research and practice of the bodies anatomical structure and the physiological function of the parts Dr. Still was able to help bring the vitality of a patient through manual therapy and adjustment.

Osteopathic care is one of the most extensive manual practices that exists today and can help a variety of conditions and ailments. We are trained to understand the human body and all it’s systems inside and out, and using this knowledge we can quickly help both acute and chronic conditions.

From his late teens and into his early twenties, Jeremy had suffered significant pain in his low back and hips that no previous therapy had been able to fix. Through his personal pursuit for solution and fateful connections, Jeremy was referred to the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy in his last year of university. After experiencing treatment as well as sitting in on a few lectures Jeremy found his personal solution as well as his professional calling.
